Commodore PET 2001 ("Blue PET"), 1977年

It considered one of the first personal computers suitable for the general public, "PET" is an abbreviation of "Personal Electronic Transactor". Like the "TRS-80" Model I and the "Apple II", the PET was a second generation computer in comparison to first generation machines such as Altair 8800, IMSAI 8080, SOL-20 and Apple 1. – It was, however, oneof the first to include a keyboard, monitor and a mass storage device (cassette drive) within one housing. The computer was ready to start immediately and without complicated procedures because "BASIC" was loaded automatically at startup. The "chiclet" keyboard on the first PET was difficult to write on because it was based on the calculator keypads of the period. There was no sound in this early version. – The PET offered here comes in the very rare "Blue PET" version – the first revision – identifiable by the blue border around the monitor, the blue Commodore label and cassette drive with its white keys and manual ejection. After turning on, the typical start-up message "7167 bytes free" appears. This offered "PET" has been tested and works well.
