Comprising Next Computer model N1000, Mega Pixel Display N4000A with mouse and keyboard, 4 user manuals in German or English, comprehensive software package including PastelUp, and Nebula Applications for NeXTStep and promotional material, very good condition, complete and functioning correctly, with minor wear to mouse and keyboard cables. - Note: After leaving the Apple Inc. in 1985, Steve Jobs founded "NeXT" and developed the NeXT computer, a high-end workstation whose NeXTStep operating system (a Unix derivative) later became the basis for Mac OS X. The workstation set industry milestones thanks to its performance, features and ease of use. Due to the high price tag, however, the NeXT computer was not a commercial success. Steve Jobs returned to Apple when the company bought out NeXT in 1996. Today, the NeXT Cube is primarily known as the computer on which Tim Berners-Lee developed the World Wide Web and the first web browser at CERN in Geneva, on which the first web server ran. Due to the extraordinary design of their cast-magnesium housing, NeXT Cubes are now exhibited in museums of modern art, including the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. - A highlight of the early computer history!
