NPG Glossy Stereo Cards of the German Empire, 1902-07

Approx. 1370 stereo cards, 9 x 18 cm, predominantly NPG (Neue Photographische Gesellschaft Berlin-Steglitz), in normal to good condition. - Note: The comprehensive group of stereo cards shows many parts of the German Empire, from the North Sea islands to the Alps, from the castles and the still automobile-free cities to the villages and farmhouses. There are also 17 views of imperial maneuvers or aeronautica from the Zeppelin to the first flying machines, 10 of South-West Africa Windhoek, 44 colored stereo cards and an unauthorized copy. The selection of well over a thousand stereo cards is from the lifetime collection of an enthusiast and historian. According to Dieter Lorenz (exhibition catalog 2009 "Holtz - Neue Photographische Gesellschaft Steglitz, The History of a Forgotten Global Company 1897-1921", p. 65), in 1911 the NPG published 3,962 stereo cards of Germany alone, approx. 34% of which is on offer here. A valuable historical document.
