Probably by Bremond, with large key-wind musical movement, no. 857, playing eight airs, with 93 teeth in comb (complete), engraved brass control plate and faceted steel winding key, in carved walnut three-storey chalet with mirror-glass windows, two adjoining outbuildings, balcony, kennel with dog and lower section (housing the musical movement) with carved stone-like foundations supported by pillars and decorated with vine-leaf fret, the central section of the building folding back to reveal velvet-lined interior containing ruby-glass decanter and six stemmed glasses with etched motifs of game (stag, pheasants, ducks) and forest scenery, ht. 20 ½ x wd. 25 x dp. 13 ½ in. (52 x 64 x 34 cm), cylinder 13 in. (33 cm), old split in roof. – A rare and remarkably detailed gentleman's cabinet with a fine, sonorous musical movement.
