Depicting an elderly lady with papier-mâché character head, original paint, defined chin and cheekbones, carved teeth, tongue, articulated threaded blue glass eyes with leather eyelids, papier-mâché hands holding knitting needles and a stocking, torso with going-barrel motor playing a single air as the lady raises and lowers her head, peers through her spectacles and rotates her hands in knitting movement, in original worn silk dress, shawl, beribboned lace cap and spectacles, on turned wood chair and velvet-covered plinth base, ht. 22 in. (56 cm), with size 10 key and RD stop/start.
