




Numbered "137" on comb base, playing two airs, with fine single-piece comb of 61 teeth (complete, three teeth expertly replaced) and separate indented bass tooth, comb stamped "F. NICOLE", in silver-gilt case with maker's mark (a classical profile), polished interior, engine-turned panels and chased and engraved borders of foliage and flowering thistles, wd. 3 3/8 x dp. 2 in. (8,5 x 5 cm), cylinder 2 ¼ in. (5,6 cm), with key, in silk-lined leather-covered traveling case. Excellent restored playing condition. The indented bass tooth is an early feature also seen on some cartel movements by François Nicole.
