Figural gilt-brass clock depicting Cupid, a flaming torch and a sheath of arrows, with two-train movement striking hours and quarters on two bells, 2 ½-inch (6,5 cm) enameled Arabic dial signed "Robert" (chips around winding holes), ebonized wood base with engraved control panel, two-air sectional-comb movement with 33 pairs of teeth in chevron formation (complete), bass teeth on the right, activation via the clock, manual override, change/repeat and instant-stop controls, ht. 13 in. (33 cm), cylinder 3 ½ in. (9 cm), cylinder movement in excellent restored playing condition, clock movement untested. He concludes: "All these details point to a one-of-a-kind construction, maybe by an experienced clockmaker …" - Attractive arrangements and a technically ambitious design.
