Complete Italian Post Office Telegraph Station by Gerosa, c. 190

No. 7520, the reverse with official post office stamp "RR" (Regie Poste). The unit consists of a telegraph re­ceiver with winding key and wheel with paper tape, a second wheel to collect the used paper tape, a standard "Forcieri" model Morse key with line switch, an unmarked key, a "Svizzero" line switch (standard in the Italian post offices), two “Precision Milano" galvanometers (also standard in the Italian post offices), a spare paper tape, a small ink bottle and a photocopy of the instructions from the book "ll Telegrafo Morse", 1934. - The Italian telegraphs were of the standardised "Hipp" model, built under license by various companies such as Gerosa, Rosati and Ferreri & C. etc. from 1870 to the end of WWII. Fratelli Gerosa was founded in 1873 and absorbed in 1909 by the Italian Western Electric, dating the present example to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The equipment was used to demonstrate telegraph operation at communication exhibitions. - It is in excellent aesthetic conditions and working condition.
