F.H. 66 Cinema Film Projector, c. 1950

For 1200-meter reels in two fireproof drums, hand-turned or with motor-drive, light tone scanning, with original multi-adjustable carbon arc lamp with a large concave mirror in the lamp house and Möller anamorphic lens that can be moved in front of the projection lens for Cinemascope widescreen films, electrical functions untested. - Note: This "F.H. 66" is a rare so-called left-hand machine. If there were a left-hand version in the projection room instead of a second right-hand machine, a projectionist was allowed to operate both machines. The strict fire protection regulations of the Nitrofilm era required one projectionist per right-hand machine. - The "F.H. 66" was considered the Rolls-Royce of cinema projectors because of its solid design and construction. At the market launch, the trade press reported: "The new projector is not one of the usual metal boxes. It is more like a sculpture by the sculptor Henry Moore."
