UFA Film Script of "Münchhausen", 1940s

The complete original script of the UFA anniversary color film "Münchhausen" from 1942, captioned on the inside front page: "Münchhausen – material and book by Berthold Bürger, director Josef von Baky, a Hans Albers production of the UFA". – In addition: 8 showcase photographs of the post-war performance, 2 different original cinema programs, a color copy of the UFA pamphlet from 1943, a DVD of the Münchhausen version of the re-release in 1953. – Note: For the upcoming 25th anniversary of the largest European film company, the Berlin-based Universum-Film AG, Reich Propaganda Minister Goebbels desired a major film that would show the uninterrupted production of the German film industry in the fourth year of the war. The legend of the lying baron "Münchhausen" was chosen for the screenplay by Berthold Bürger. This name was the pseudonym for the author Erich Kästner, whose books were publicly burned in 1933. UFA had obtained special permission from Goebbels for his collaboration. The film premiered on 5th March 1943 in the UFA-Palast in Berlin. At 6.6 million Reichsmarks, this fourth color film by UFA was the most expensive German film production of its time.
