2 Interesting German Microscopes

1) Seibert, Wetzlar, c. 1890, original lacquered brass, burnished iron base, height 12 ? in., triple nosepiece, 3 numbered objectives ("Seibert No. IV" and unsigned nos. 4 and 7), 1 eyepiece, coarse and fine adjustment, condenser with iris diaphragm in sliding sleeve under the table, signature on the tube "Seibert in Wetzlar" and "Zool. Inst. Greifswald", on the base in cursive script "Zoolog. Institut Greifswald", original case with embossed no. "9172". – And: 2) Unusual microscope from Berlin, 1902, original lacquered brass with green-gold lacquered iron stand, height 10 ? in., 2 eyepieces (nos. 2 and 4), 3 objectives (nos. 3, 7 and 10), draw tube coarse adjustment, parallelogram fine adjustment via knurled screw at the rear of the stand column, tilting stand, curved aperture disc under the table, numbered "2115", although not signed, the instrument clearly originates from the workshop of Rudolf Krügelstein in Berlin, in good mechanical and optical condition, case with a numbered magnification table, dated 27 March 1902, showing that the optical equipment with eyepieces and objectives is as complete as at the time of sale, the box is stamped with the microscope's serial no. "2.165". R. Krügelstein manufactured microscopes and other optical instruments in Berlin from 1865 to 1920.
