Trichinella Microscope from Berlin, c. 1890–1910

Original lacquered brass with blackened hardwood table, height 8 ? in., one three-part combinable objective lens, one eyepiece, coarse and fine adjustment via a drive, the magnification table in the box indicates 50x, 100x and 200x magnification, the number "5245" is stamped on the table, the same number can be found on the magnification table, the objects in a compressorium are moved by the knurled screw on the right-hand side of the table, although unsigned, the microscope undoubtedly originates from the workshop of Wilhelm Teschner, in good mechanical and optical condition, attractive box. – In 1806, Joseph Amuel founded a precision engineering workshop. In 1866, W. Teschner took over the company and it has been building microscopes ever since. Teschner was a court optician and mechanic in Berlin and made a name for himself with this microscope, which is quite rare today.
