Zeiss Ikon Archive, 1931–72

Corporate archive from the Georg Rauh Zeiss Ikon agency in Copenhagen, along with museum holdings, focusing on 1931–1972. The collection includes over a meter of folders and documents covering the areas: Zeiss Ikon annual reports 1950–1967 and press clippings; extensive corporate photographs of the product range (a stack approx. 15 cm high); comparison photographs; a seminar folder; material on Zeiss lenses from Jena (including the May 1896 Paul Rudolph – Tele-Objektive) and Oberkochen; Zeiss Ikon main catalogs and other catalogs; Ica catalogs and brochures; price lists (many with annotations), pricing schedules, supplements; brochures (including one of the first Contax brochures from 1932); advertising booklets; instruction manuals; sales promotion magazines for dealers; and two elegant advertising displays (24 x 14 cm, c. 1955). The material is predominantly in German; foreign-language items are for about 20 percent of the total generally accompanied by a German original account. Many items feature punched holes or other filing aids.
