Kodascope B Color Film Projector, c. 1928, and Accessories

Kodak, USA. Film projector designed for 16mm film on reels up to 120 meters. Special feature: The lens mount is configured to accept a three-color striped filter, which attaches in front of the front lens element. This filter (complete with its original box) is included with this projector! When such a filter is placed in front of the projection lens, film footage can be displayed in natural colors (additive color process). Medium: Black-and-white film with embossed lenticular screen, patented by Kodak under the name "Kodacolor." Kodacolor lenticular film was manufactured from 1925 to 1936. Thus, amateur filmmakers were able to shoot in color a full ten years before the invention of multi-layer color films (1936). – In addition: A 10-meter reel of developed Kodacolor film featuring scenes from Egypt (a camel ride, archaeological excavations, shots presumably of shrines, and the Step Pyramid of Djoser); further the "Kodacolor Filter von Cine-Kodaks F-1.9" (screw-in mount) with its case and both neutral-density filters, and an adjustable green-red section (in near-mint condition) – as well as a projection lens for Bell & Howell projectors, fitted with a three-color filter. – Electrical functions have not been tested.
