Geneva, probably Moulinié, Bautte et Moynier, with sur-plateau movement playing a single air, male winding-key, engine-turned case with pierced and engraved hinged cover to polished compartment below, turquoise-set repoussé lid decorated with motifs of buds and foliate scrolls and inner lid with enameled miniature of a walled city, meadows, a figure in the foreground and inscription "Baden", wd. 1 x lg. 1 ¼ x ht. ½ in. (2,5 x 3,5 x 1,5 cm). – Jean-François Bautte (1772–1837) and Jacques-Dauphin Moulinié (1761–1838) entered into partnership with Jean-Gabriel Moynier in around 1804. The firm specialized in fine pocket watches and objet de vertu, including a series of musical vinaigrettes with enameled landscapes depicting European cities such as Geneva, Chamonix and Baden-Baden (seen here). – A particularly fine exhibition piece in excellent playing condition.
