With unsigned Jumeau bisque head incised "7" and painted artist's mark "V1", portrait expression, closed mouth, fixed brown paperweight eyes, pierced ears, original dressed blonde mohair wig, bisque shoulder-plate and hands, seated on fretwork stool at gold and white-painted harp, on velvet-covered base containing going-barrel motor and two-air cylinder movement playing "La Mascotte Valse" and "Le Juivre ... (?)", dressed in fine original rose silk brocade couturier costume trimmed with lace, ribbons and beads, ht. 21 ¾ in. (54 cm), wig not removed, with tune-sheet and brass key with "LB" monogram. – The lady turns and inclines her head gracefully as her hands strike the strings with a lifting and plucking motion. – Example of a deluxe automaton with beautiful Jumeau head and a fine musical movement, in excellent original working condition.
