Bruguier, Génève", four pairs of cams playing in sequence 1-1-2-3-2-3-4 for just over 20 seconds, female winding key, bird with iridescent green and blue-toned plumage, articulated bone beak, head, perch, wings and tail, in silver-gilt case with scalloped corners and key-compartment at rear, engraved on the base and all sides with patterns of flowers and foliage, the top with champlevé enamelled garlands of roses, pansies and violets, engraved fleur-de-lys and stylised ivy leaves around a tooled laurel leaf border with black enamel infill, filigree bird grille and oval lid with enamelled interior depicting a spray of flowers on powder-blue border and exterior an Alpine landscape with lake and chalet, wd. 3 ¾ in. x dp. 2 3/8 in. x ht. 1 ½ in. (9,2 x 6 x 3,8 cm). With key and contemporary leather-covered custom travelling case. The movement has been overhauled and is in excellent working condition. A Bruguier singing bird box with particularly fine silver work and enamelling – an exquisite exhibition piece.
