With plaster-composition head, brown glass eyes, articulated eyelids, fleecy wig and painted bisque hands, seated barefoot on velvet-covered stool containing going-barrel movement that plays two airs (a waltz and "The Soldiers' Chorus" from Gounod's "Faust") as the musician turns and nods his head, plays the accordion with his left hand, blinks and swings his right leg in time to the music, dressed in checked silk jacket with green satin lapels, matching breeches and cap, ht. 22 in. (56 cm), predominantly original paint – some unobtrusive retouch on the left cheek, base recovered, a couple of dampers in need of adjustment, replacement brass stop/start button.
