Apple II, 1977
The Apple II was the direct successor of the Apple 1,
which was also developed by Steve Wozniak and mar-
keted in 1977. With the Apple II began the rise of Apple
Inc. to become the most successful company in the
world. Unlike the Apple 1, the motherboard was deliv-
ered in an extremely well-designed plastic housing
together with keyboard and the highest state of the art
switching power supply of the time. The design of the
motherboard, with its possibility for adding expansion
cards, was an engineering masterstroke by Steve Woz-
niak. The Apple II motherboard is one of the most com-
plex personal computers ever created by one person.
The model offered here is from the first series, with an
early motherboard, black serial number label on the
casing, and the first floppy drives from Apple (with the
so called "rainbow" cables). Provided are also the ap-
propriate Apple II monitor, diskettes with Basic, Apple
DOS and games (as copies). Even the rare first manual
for the Apple II – the so called "Red Book" – is in-
cluded!
